Matt originally came in for pain relief on his low back. He had an extensive past medical history that included cervical fusions and lumbar discectomies for multiple herniations and radiculopathy. He had been to multiple doctors, with advice ranging from complete rest & different pain medications to further surgery. He felt defeated after battling with these conditions for years, with little hope for improving, but decided to make one last effort to come in and see me, a Chiropractor. With tears in his eyes, Matt explained his main goal, his why. "I just want to be able to pick up and play with my kids."
Matt's progress since then has been nothing short of incredible. He currently not only performs full-body workouts, but plays with his kids regularly. His story is a testament not to the work I've done with him, but to his persistence and mindset.
I didn't do anything special with Matt, and every other doc was doing the best they could with him. The only thing, the most important thing, that I was able to do was gain his trust. From there, we focused on developing positive lifestyle habits wherever he could. He lost some weight, progressively built strength, improved his mobility, and kept his mind from falling into negative territory. Most importantly, he stayed consistent. He trusted the process because he trusted me.
There's hope out there if you continue to search for it. With whatever condition you are dealing with, you want to find someone who truly cares. You want to establish mutual trust with them and stay consistent with your process!
